Crowsnest
Driving west along Highway 3, Crowsnest Mountain is impossible to miss. Standing completely isolated, it rises like a massive, rugged fortress guarding the gateway to the Rockies. With the jagged peaks of the Seven Sisters in the background and the ghostly silhouettes of limber pines in the foreground, this print aims to capture the ruggedness of the Southern Alberta landscape.
The block for this print was originally carved in 2020. I ran a small number of prints that I was never really happy with. They were never released, and eventually destroyed, however, the block has always remained my personal favourite. I decided to reprint this piece now that I have more experience and the right equipment. In some ways, this carving was the beginning of my current style.
Printed with oil based ink on 16" x 20" Stonehenge 250 gsm paper.
This is an unframed print.
Due to the nature of printing by hand, each print is unique and may contain small differences.
Edition of 20.
